DESCRIPTION:
AGGRESOL -S- is a green water soluble liquid that when sprayed on the surface of freshly placed concrete retards the surface mortar to expose the aggregate.
DIRECTIONS:
COVERAGE: To obtain a nominal depth etch of 1/8 inch. AGGRESOL -S- should be applied at a rate of 200 sq. ft. per gallon on freshly placed concrete.
APPLICATION: After surface water has dissipated, spray AGGRESOL -S- over entire area to be treated using low-pressure sprayer. Cover treated area with white polyethylene or equivalent to prevent drying out.
EXPOSING AGGREGATE: Remove surface mortar within 8-24 hours after application. Check to determine if the concrete has set sufficiently. Use a low-pressure garden hose and coarse brush or stiff broom to remove retarded surface mortar. Washing with a 10% muriatic solution can clean aggregates. Surface should be rinsed thoroughly with water following a 5 - 10 minute interaction period between acid solution and surface.
WARNING: Avoid excessive force when removing surface mortar, which can undermine exposed aggregate profile.
LIMITATIONS: Accelerated admixtures, steam curing, heated concrete and hot weather all reduce the effectiveness and dependability of AGGRESOL -S- etching action.
