Terracotta Powder - Plaster Additive This additive gives an ancient, terracotta look to Marmorino. Composition: Sieved powder made of old, crushed terracotta bricks. Old terracotta bricks, bisqued at low temperatures over a long period of time, are soft. The powder is crushed with a trowel during the final polishing phase. There are two types of terra cotta powder: Fine for Classic Marmorino Coarse for Carrara Marmorino Packaging:Terra Cotta FINE 480 gram bags (1 container per 24KG)Terra Cotta COARSE 950 gram bags (1 container per 24KG)
How to use Terracotta Powder:-Add the contents of a 400-gram container to a 24-kg. bucket of Marmorino Classic or Marmorino Carrara for use during application of the final coat. It is not necessary to add any to the previous coats.
-Add the terracotta just before applying it. The material should be used within a few days because terracotta makes the lime hydraulic, and it could, therefore, harden inside the bucket. (Terracotta is made of clay and what distinguishes slaked lime from hydraulic lime is the presence of clay.)It?s especially effective when used in conjunction with yellow, ivory and light terracotta colors (our colors 04, 05, 06, and 20).
It is normal that small pieces of uncrushed terracotta will leave small scratches on the surface of the finish. This is one of the characteristics of this finish.
